Here is one of our passionate and dedicated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructors, Anthony Munoz. Anthony’s journey into the world of BJJ began in 2017 when he attended the Gracie Tactical Survival course at NAS Meridian, a life-changing 40-hour Law Enforcement Jiu-Jitsu class that ignited his fervor for the art. Since then, he has been relentlessly training and currently holds a purple belt, a testament to his dedication and skill.
Anthony’s approach to BJJ is deeply rooted in his love for the art and the community it fosters. Every class is a memorable experience for him, whether he’s learning or teaching. He thrives on sharing his knowledge, no matter how small, and takes immense joy in watching others grow and succeed through his guidance. His teaching style is hands-on and technical, always emphasizing the importance of understanding why techniques work.
In his training sessions, Anthony instills the values of perseverance and continuous learning, believing that there are no shortcuts in BJJ—you either win or learn. His advice to newcomers is simple yet profound: never give up, as the hardest belt to achieve is the white belt—you just have to start.
Anthony finds all aspects of Jiu-Jitsu fascinating and believes that every technique, when executed properly, has its place. His commitment to lifelong learning is unwavering; he strives to learn from everyone, regardless of their belt rank. His ultimate goal is to be a role model for younger generations, continually evolving as both a practitioner and an instructor.
Anthony’s journey in BJJ has significantly boosted his confidence, especially in his role in law enforcement, where he sought to protect himself and maintain control in challenging situations. Anthony is not just an instructor; he embodies the essence of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as a lifelong journey of growth and self-improvement.
